University of Denver Sturm College of Law at the 16th Vis Moot - 2008-09
The 2008-2009 University of Denver Sturm College of Law Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Team competed in the 16th Vis Moot during the first week of April. The team had the great privilege of competing against some of the best teams at the moot including the University of Munich, University of Vienna, University of Helsinki, and the Andres Bello Catholic University of Venezuela.
The Team was led in Vienna by coach Ted Gleason.
The Team received the generous gift of time and guidance by a number of Denver law firms including Davis Graham & Stubbs, Holme Roberts & Owen, and Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck. Special thanks go out to the volunteer arbitrators at the firms, and especially Mr. David Wilson of HRO, Mr. Tom McNamara of DGS, and Ms. Katy Donnelly of BHFS.
The Team also received the help of its growing list of alumni and former coaches throughout the year including Lucky Vidmar, Aubrey Ardema, Tom Wagner, Katy Donnelly, Anna Cavaleri, Aaron Catbagan, and Elly Hoopes.
Our alumni, former coaches, and other friends have been great advocates and supporters of the team. It really matters, and big changes are in store for the team next year. We look forward to even more support next year!
The Team also had the great pleasure of doing a practice round in Vienna with the excellent University of Indonesia team.
Here are a few of the photos from our yearlong journey to Vienna:
